Symphonia League

Like any vigorous organization, The Williamsburg Symphonia’s mission is to continue to grow—in the strength and variety of its programming, in the quantity of its outreach efforts and in the satisfaction it brings to its audiences. To do so requires an endowment that keeps pace with this growth. Unlike annual gifts, which are expended for short-term needs, gifts for the endowment are invested, and the principal is held in perpetuity. The Symphonia will spend income from the Endowment Fund to support its activities.

There are many endowment opportunities, one of which is establishing a named chair; this endowed chair serves to enrich the orchestra by attracting exceptional musicians. Generosity to the Symphonia’s endowment campaign is recognized in several ways, but the greatest benefit for a benefactor is the knowledge that his or her gift will assure the continuing excellence of one of America’s best chamber orchestras, now and into the future.

Ways to Give

Friends of The Williamsburg Symphonia are invited to make gifts or commitments to the endowment campaign. Gifts may be made in cash, appreciated securities, or other property, such as real estate or life insurance. Generous payment periods may be arranged. A variety of planned giving vehicles, which offer significant tax savings and yield generous incomes to the donors or beneficiaries, are also available. Usually funded by gifts of long-term appreciated property, these include the pooled income fund, the charitable remainder trust and the charitable gift annuity. All gifts to The Williamsburg Symphonia are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. For more information, contact us.
